How do I play?
Objective: Score the most points by saving the most animals!
First, select the game difficulty, set up the board, and click "Start the Game!"
Then follow these 3 easy steps.
1. Draw a Number
You and the robot will take turns drawing cards.
Each card matches up with a tile on the game board.
All you have to do is decide what to play!
2. Use Your Resources
Here are the resources you can play:
Gold coin - 6 points
Silver coin - 4 points
Bronze coin - 2 points
Plain token - 1 point
Valued tokens = resources that aid in the preservation of animals
3. Defend and Destroy
And here are the special tokens you can play:
Defender - protects all your surrounding tokens from being destroyed
Bomb - destroys all your opponent's undefended tokens in the surrounding spaces
Defender tokens = animal sanctuaries where animals are protected
Bomb tokens = actions (intentional or unintentional) that are detrimental to other wildlife organizations
Here, for example, a bomb played by blue on tile 11 would destroy yellow on tile 0, green on tile 12, and red on tile 20. Red's gold coin on tile 2 is defended, and nothing happens to the blue token on tile 21.
4. Handle Twists & Turns
There are also several "Twists & Turns" cards with different instructions to follow:
Twists & Turns = unexpected events that affect animal preservation
How is the game scored?
At the end of the game, the score is based on how many resource points are on each animal:
If you have more points on it, you win the animal.
If the robot has more points on it, it wins the animal.
If there are no tokens on it, or if there is an equal number of points
on it, then nobody wins that animal.
The number of animal points depends on the animal's size and can be seen here:
Lastly, each unused bomb earns a player 10 points, so be careful how you use your bombs!
